Every now and again, there arises an opportunity that you just should not let pass you by. Now is such a time.

Effective September 30th, 2009, the Ontario Government introduced the Green Energy Plan including the FIT program which allows individuals and businesses to generate green power and feed it into the power grid at a very profitable rate.

At Sashaan, we’re particularly excited about the “microFIT” opportunity. These are contracts where the solar array is rated to produce 10,000 watts or less and give you the highest return on investment.

Larger FIT contracts, will produce even more revenue yet give you a comparable return on investment (the per kilowatt-hour payout rate is less but then so is the per kilowatt cost).

Read more details on the FIT program on our FIT page.

How do you get in on this?

Contact us and we'll do the following all at no charge or obligation;

  1. Do a site visit and review the whole program with you and answer all of your questions.

  2. Do a site analysis to see the effect of any shading issues you might have.

  3. Determine the best location for your system.

  4. Provide a report that outlines the expected cost and return on investment.

  5. Apply to the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) to get your microFIT or FIT contract*.

  6. Apply to your Local Distribution Company for a meter installation.

All of the above comes at absolutely no charge from Sashaan nor obligation by you.

You will likely get a Conditional Offer from OPA (there are area in Ontario that currently do not have capacity). However, this program has been so popular, OPA is dealing with many more than expected applications and currently are taking over 3 months for a microFIT application and with Hydro One take over 12 months for a FIT application (under 500kW). So do not delay or hesitate to get in on this program!

Once you have a microFIT/FIT offer, you have 6-7 months to produce electricity or the offer expires. Only once you decide to actually go ahead do you need to commit to your investment.

What are you waiting for? Contact us today!

* Note there are OPA and Local Distribution Company fees associated with a FIT application.
